Introducing Privado Integration with Hightouch
Privado can now monitor and govern all personal data shared via Hightouch!
With this new integration, Privado expands its personal data visibility and privacy governance for hundreds of Hightouch customers.
Before this integration, Privado mapped data to immediate third parties, including data warehouses, but data sent by Hightouch to other third parties was not covered.
Hightouch is the leading Composable Customer Data Platform (CDP) that empowers companies to activate their data warehouse to power personalized marketing and business operations.
Tejas Manohar, Co-Founder of Hightouch, says: “We're excited to partner with Privado to help our customers preserve user privacy and comply with the highest privacy standards. This integration reflects Hightouch's commitment to privacy and provides our customers with best-in-class personal data visibility and governance.”
CDPs like Hightouch are designed to orchestrate and activate all kinds of personal data from websites, apps, data warehouses, and other systems. Marketing teams commonly use Hightouch to send personal data to marketing partners to build retargeting audiences and improve measurement.
With Privado’s additional layer of visibility, privacy teams can now proactively prevent all non-compliant data sharing from Hightouch. Instead of just showing what data is sent to a data warehouse and accessed by Hightouch, Privado now identifies all third parties receiving data via Hightouch and which data elements are shared.
How Privado enables full visibility and governance for data shared via Hightouch
This integration adds visibility and governance for all personal data shared via Hightouch
Privado’s core privacy code scanning technology builds data maps by scanning the code that operates your websites, apps, and backend systems. Because Hightouch is implemented on top of a data warehouse, Privado had previously only identified which data elements were sent to the data warehouse.
Since Hightouch controls outward data flows from data warehouses, this information wasn’t captured by Privado scanning the code of a website or app. That’s where this integration with Hightouch comes in. By directly connecting with Hightouch, Privado can provide the full lineage for personal data orchestrated and shared via Hightouch.
On the flipside, just scanning Hightouch is not enough to provide full visibility and governance. Privacy code scanning is needed to complete the picture.
To govern data shared externally from Hightouch, code scanning is required to identify exactly what personal data elements are shared. Scanning Hightouch alone identifies the third parties receiving data and identifies what web or app events are shared. Scanning the code that sends data to data warehouses is required to identify all data elements shared within an event.
For example, if Hightouch shares an “add to cart” event from a mobile app, scanning Hightouch can identify that an event named “add to cart” was shared with a third party. Scanning the mobile app’s code is needed to identify that the “add to cart” event is sharing personal data like email or potentially sensitive data like the product name added or the user’s search history.
Once the integration is enabled, all outward data flows via Hightouch are synced with Privado. This means all additional third parties will be added to Privado’s data inventory, and all data flows will be updated. Each data element identified will show the full lineage from code to data warehouse to the eventual third party via Hightouch. Additionally, data flows orchestrated by Hightouch will sync to privacy assessments and trigger privacy issues based on your policy workflows.
By enabling full personal data visibility for Hightouch, Privado can help scale privacy governance across the engineering and marketing teams that control these data flows.
